About
I come from a very humble family where money was always tight. My father was a daily bread earner. Schooling was a challenge, and dropping out crossed my mind several times due to financial stress. But my mother insisted I finish college. I started earning at just 15 to help in family finances.
During college, I worked at a family-managed organization and felt stuck. I realized it would not lead me anywhere, so I decided to pursue professional education. I became a Chartered Accountant in 1997 and followed by Bachelors of Law.
I took a corporate job for a better life, but it did not make me happy. Recognizing my affinity for people and a passion for helping, I heeded my supervisor’s advice to explore a career in non-profits. For over a decade, I held mid and senior management positions at respected organizations such as the World Health Organization–National Polio Surveillance Project, CARE-India, Rotary India Humanity Foundation, and Trickle Up Program.
At 42, I summoned the courage to leave the security of my job and returned to pursue my dream of being a business owner. The journey commenced with the establishment of my own CA firm.
However, it was at 45, during a casual conversation with an associate, who is an expert in Personal Finance I had a revelation about the state of my finances. I realized that my personal finance was in shambles.
I joined hands with this person and co-founded a financial advisory company.
Our Mission: To enhance the financial well-being of households and MSME businesses. This venture has since empowered over 10,000 individuals to make sound financial decisions aligned with their life goals.
Parallelly, I took control of my own financial narrative. Recognizing that even with the best of qualifications, if my personal finances can get into shambles there are millions out there on the same boat. This realization led me to a bigger mission and I set forth to empower 10 million people take control of their money and live a peaceful financial life.
As a first step, I authored a book, “The Money Manifesto,” which became a bestseller on Amazon on the very day of its launch. Thereafter I founded, “Financial Peace Varsity” in 2023 to take my mission to scale through associations and collaborations.
Driven by a passion for making a broader impact, in 2019 I co-founded ISRA (Institute of Social Responsibility and Accountability), a philanthropic organization for disrupting the status quo by empowering the marginalized. ISRA bagged the prestigious City Championship award in 2023 from JOSH Talks for being trailblazer in urban finance solutions and financial inclusion through technology.
The journey continues, fueled by the belief that everyone, regardless of their background, deserves the opportunity for a secure and prosperous financial life.
